Prescription Ordering Direct (POD)

The Prescription Ordering Direct (POD) service that has been be piloted in practices based in Meir Primary Care Network (PCN) is being closed down with a comprehensive wind-down plan with a key focus on communication to all stakeholders (practice staff, pharmacies, and patients). Regular meetings with the LPC and ICB are in place and finalised communications plan will be shared when available. Please hold off on informing patients until the official communication materials are released to ensure consistency.

• Expected timelines:
  • Cut off for sign up of new patients to the POD service Monday 12th January 2026.
  • The cut off for patients to submit requests via the webform will be 12pm on Thursday 26th February 2026.
  • The cut off for requests via emails from Pharmacies will be 12pm on Thursday 26th February 2026.
  • The patient phone line will close at 4pm on Friday 27th February 2026
