New Resources to Raise Awareness of UTIs

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are a common health concern among older adults and are frequently managed in primary care settings. To support healthcare and social care organisations in promoting UTI awareness, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and NHS England have developed a communications toolkit for UTI prevention and awareness in older adults.
The toolkit provides key messages, educational resources, and ready-to-use social media assets aimed at people aged 65 and over, as well as those in their support networks.
Designed for use in GP practices, pharmacies, care homes, and community settings, the materials focus on UTI prevention and recognising potential UTI symptoms.
New for this year, the toolkit includes:
  • A short UTI prevention awareness video for waiting room screens – (this is entitled ‘digital screen in the assets list)
  • A UTI prevention poster and UTI symptom poster translated into 13 additional languages
